Soprano Kimberly States enthusiastically made her Lincoln Center debut this season as Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly with the New York Opera Forum. Favorite opera roles performed include Belinda in Dido and Aeneas, Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro, Fiordiligi in Cosi fan Tutte, Governess in Turn of the Screw, Madame Euterprova in Help, Help the Globolinks, and Pamina in The Magic Flute. She has been featured in masterclasses with Thomas Quasthoff, Stephen Lord, and Joshua Major. Favorite Oratorio include Brahms and Mozart Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, and Vaughn Williams' Dona Nobis Pacem. As an advocate of new music, Kimberly premiered several new compositions with Boston Metro Opera. Ms. States received her B.M. from Heidelberg University and her M.M. from The New England Conservatory of Music. Kimberly is a recipient of the prestigious Dorothy and Ferris Ohl Prize in Excellence of Music Performance.
