Noelle McMurtry

Noelle McMurtry, soprano, recognized for her “expressive panache” and “flashing” voice, is devoted to the interpretation of art song and Baroque repertoire. Her recent operatic credits include Calisto in La Calisto with Peabody Opera Theatre, and Drusilla in L’incoronazione di Poppea with dell’Arte Opera Ensemble. She was a Young Artist at SongFest in Los Angeles and was awarded the Outstanding Performance Award for the Art Song Division of the Metropolitan International Vocal Competition. An avid recitalist, Noelle is most interested in innovative, thematic programming that creates new contexts in which to experience song, particularly those which highlight female perspectives. Examples of her original programs include Ophelia and Her Sisters, Femme en fleurs, and The Heavenly Banquet. Noelle’s original cabaret show exploring female perspectives on love, Queen of Hearts, was awarded a Career Development Grant from Peabody Institute of Music. Noelle is in the 2nd-year of her Graduate Performance Diploma at Peabody as a student of soprano Ah Young Hong.
