Soprano Sara Lin Yoder, from Oskaloosa, Iowa, is finding her niche in early and new music. Sara Lin received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota where she performed the roles of Nanetta (Falstaff) and Ida (Die Fledermaus). In the Spring 2016, she earned a Master’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder where she performed the roles of Despina (Cosi fan tutte), Poppea (L’incoronazione di Poppea), Clorinda (La Cenerentola), Constance (Dialogues of the Carmelites), and Laurie (The Tender Land). Sara Lin’s interest in new music was discovered in 2012 while working with Grammy Award winning composers Robert Aldridge and Hershel Garfein to workshop the role of Jessica in their new production of Sister Carrie. Sara Lin has also workshopped Aschera in Apocalypse: Now and Then (Manuel Kerer, Guerino Mazzola), Susan in A Song for Susan Smith (Zach Redler, Mark Campbell) and Mary in It’s a Wonderful Life (Jake Heggie, Gene Scheer). Sara Lin currently resides in NYC.
