Soprano Angela Dixon is faculty of music at Ethical Culture School in Manhattan and holds a certificate in the Kodály method of music education. She currently studies voice with Hilda Harris, professor of music at the Manhattan School of Music. Angela holds a Bachelor of Musical Arts in voice performance from the University of Michigan, where she studied with Emeritus Dean Willis Patterson. Patterson compiled the Anthology of Art Songs by Black American Composers with Angela organizing and distributing this landmark song collection. Angela holds an M.A. in dance history and cultural studies from New York University. She combined her love of music and dance in her Masters thesis performance, exploring the intersection between flamenco and African-American music as she delved into the poetry of Langston Hughes and Federico Garcia Lorca. Mary Kathryn Monday, mezzo-soprano, has been praised for her wide array of vocal colors and passion for characterization on the operatic stage. She is thrilled to bring King Egeo to life with Cantanti Project and Dorian Baroque. Other performances this season include Flora in La Traviata and a member of the female ensemble in Stinney: An American Execution with the Prototype Festival. Last season, Ms. Monday gave a recital featuring Berlioz's Les nuits d'été and scenes as Didon from Les Troyens and as Carmen at the National Opera Center. Coloratura soprano Jane Hoffman is a true singing actor who brings an engaging stage presence and expressive voice to a variety of repertoire. She has performed with the Victor Herbert Renaissance Project, New Camerata Opera, Pasadena Opera, Utopia Opera, and the Emerald City Opera Artist Institute. She has sung roles such as Elizabeth ‘Baby Doe’ Tabor, Adele, Olympia, and Le Feu (Ravel). Jane is particularly in demand as a performer of new works; she has premiered multiple works as a Core Company Resident with the Fresh Squeezed Opera Company, and she recently premiered scenes from The Contract Player with OperaRox Productions. William Lewis, pianist/accompanist, vocal coach, arranger, and performer is beginning his fiftieth year as a professional musician. In 2014, he earned two nominations in the Charleston Theater Awards for his performances in “The Piano Man and the Diva” (Best Musical Director and Best Actor in a Musical) for the 2013-2014 season. In Savannah, Georgia, he won the People’s Choice Award during the American Traditions Competition. Mr. Lewis regularly appears with Irish tenor Ronan Tynan in concert and also plays for Marcello Giordano and violinist Gregory Harrington. He has served as vocal coach for the Santa Fe Opera, Lake George Opera Festival, Opera Omaha, Texas Opera, Opera Music Theater International with Jerome Hines, Central City Opera House Festival and Natchez Opera Festival. As a teacher, Mr. Lewis has served on the faculties of both the Boston and New England Conservatories and at Rutgers University. He has taught master classes across the U.S. and is presently an Artist in Residence at the University of Kentucky with Dr. Tynan.
